Rally – Walk for Water




Rally walk for water held on 15th November, 2009 from Rajpath to India Gate organized by Rotary Club of Midtown, district – 3010 with an aim of showing concern for the depleting condition of water. As we all know that there is a dire need for making every one aware about the present scenario of misuse of water resources by one and all and for this purpose, Rotarians decided to undertake this walk. It was a means through which people could be realized that its high time that they should start taking necessary steps for saving water. The Chief Guest was the Honorable Chief Minister of Delhi Ms. Shiela Dixit. The guests of Honor were Shri Kalyan Baneerjee & G.K. Pillai. To support this noble cause various Brands like Chevrolet, Coca Cola, Indo Rana J K Tyres etc sponsored the event. The media partner was Danik Bhaskar. Various schools participated with great zeal of enthusiasm. Some of them were kulachi hansraj model school, APJ Faridabad, Sheikh Sarai, Pitam Pura, Noida, DPS (R.K.Puram, Mathura Road), Ryan International and many more. Ms. Shiela Dixit Flag off the rally after which the students started marching. Students were colourfully dressed with T-Shirts & Caps provided by Rotary Club Delhi Midtown. They played musical tunes on band along with songs, dances & slogans. Even though it just took about 50 minutes to cover the distance but is was a great fun achievement for us as we walked for a cause. In this walk 35 interactors by their teacher incharge Ms. Sunita Saini & Ms. Seema Lal. We were also joined by Dr. Bali & Dr. Mrs. Veena Bali with their daughter from our parent club Rotary of Delhi Garden City. We are thankful to them for sparing their precious time for this event. We are thankful to our Principal Mam Mrs. P. Datta for giving us such opportunities of exposure to such events.

POLIO PULSE ERADICATION FUND

In the month of september all the rotary members got the fee booklet for polio eradication. each booklet is of Rupees- 1250/- and it contains 25 slips of Rs50 each. For the collection of money we were given a time period of one month. Interactors are selling their tickets with great enthusiasm. Our school's Interact club has collected rupees 75,000 for polio eradication drive. This has been a very important project of Rotary club. with the main aim to eradicate polio from the country.

Interview - ZIR

Date:21-8-09
Three students of our school students went to be interviewed for the post of ZIR (Zonal Interact Representative).
Venue:Chelmsford Club.
Students: Vrinda, Sheenam & Ashvinder.
Result: Ashvinder got selected for the post and will get the badge in DILA, to be held in APJ School on 27-8-09.
