Every beginning has an end and this end was no different. Last year's Interact team passed on the baton to the new one with dignity and pleasure. Our guests for the day was President Elect and Secretary of Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City- Ms. Vibhuti Sharma and Ms. Payal Satyajit. Principal Madam, Sneh Verma and Incharge, Ms. Manju also graced the event with their presence. The propitious ceremony commenced with a long running Indian tradition- lamp lighting, followed by offering prayer to God Almighty.
Interactor Lavanya Kundra then performed a fusion dance that expressed Rotary's message, that is, 'Rotary connects the world' beautifully.
Our guests were then present with planters, as they signify life and growth, and of course promote a green India. Next, outgoing President, Cadet Radhika Narula presented a report that reflected on the projects the Interact club took up last year and expressed her gratitude towards coordinators for their immense support throughout her tenure. Following this, the incoming cabinet presented a self- written skit on water conservation- 'जल है तो कल है '.
Finally, the exchange of the collar took place: outgoing President- Cadet Radhika Narula, placed the prestigious collar on the incoming President- Ananya Virdy's shoulders. Thereafter, our guests presented the new Interact Club with badges with joy and pride. Ananya Virdy then gave her acceptance speech and presented the Interact theme for this year- Water Conservation.
Recognition must be given where it's due. Each member of the outgoing team were presented with certificates, and both Cadet Radhika Narula and Nirbhay Singh were awarded the title of 'Best Interactor'.
Ms. Vibhuti Sharma addressed the audience next. She threw light on the activities of Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City and suggested that we try to take up projects related to health and sanitation, Hepatitis-C awareness and vocation development. She also congratulated us for our success in the recently held Extempore Debate competition. Madam Principal Sneh Verma urged the students to pledge to use the resources that come with our respective titles judiciously and act responsibly.
Last, but not the least, Ms Seema Lal presented a token of thanks to the audience.
