Stress Management session

1 February 2021

We all know stress is an inescapable fact of our lives - and it becomes even more significant right now as it comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Investment in mental health is now more important than it has ever been. Thus, the Vocational Team of Interact District 3011 organized a session on stress management - #BustTheStress. The session was conducted by an able counseling psychologist, Ms. Pratibha Malhotra.

Our District Governor, Rtn. Sanjiv Rai Mehra graced the session with his presence. The session was attended by Rotarians and Interactors from overseas as well.

From our own Prayas Club, Vijeyta Panjwani, who is also the ZIR, ZONE-14, D-3011, was a part of the organizing team alongside 3 other interactors from the District Team.

The session focused on how to understand that we’re stressed and how to overcome it. Ms. Pratibha talked about the difference between 'eustress and distress'.

She provided methods to manage time and stress well. She highlighted that exercising and a healthy lifestyle is essential in managing your stress. By giving the analogy of a ‘pressure cooker’ - she encouraged students to speak out their mind and express their emotions. She patiently answered all the questions put up by the attendees. The session was interactive and informative.

At the end, a quiz was conducted and Nirali Gupta from Interact Club KHMS won the Runner's Up Appreciation.
