Tails of Forgotten : An Awareness Campaign

According to a survey on 'Pet Homelessness' in nine countries by Mars Pet care, India, India has 80 million homeless dogs, cats. With reference to this issue, the Tails Of Forgotten : an awareness campaign was initiated. The campaign with the motto of “Selfless For The Helpless”, aims to raise awareness about the plight of stray animals in India. It was initiated by the Rotaract Club Of Delhi Elite (RID 3011) in collaboration with Strays Of Delhi.

Strays of Delhi is an initiative started in 2018 by Ms. Rakshita Singh, to make the life better for stray animals, not just dogs but cats, cows, birds and other animals too. Strays of Delhi is involved in doing rescues, getting the indie kids adopted and feeding stray animals.

The campaign was divided in three phases: Phase I Pawcall , Phase II Pawsibble & Phase III Strayscue. Phase I (26th of January 2022) was a webinar with Ms. Rakshita Singh. She told us about ways we could rescue strays near us, informed us of some healthy alternatives we could feed stray dogs, like paneer, chapatti etc.

On asked if she ever faced criticism and how she dealt with it, she said that there were times when she wanted to take a break, but she overcame all that as she was reminded of the cause and of all the lives she was improving.

Ms. Rakshita requested all participants to contribute to the fundraiser i.e Phase II Pawsibble (26th Janaury 2022- 14th February 2022).

All participants and contributors were given participation certificates.
